Having already made a mark in the market, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev Ayurvedic flagship Patanjali ltd. now plans to opt for a more aggressive marketing technique, ties up with Facebook and Google for a digital marketing campaign.

Announcing its collaboration with the tech giants, Facebook and Google, Patanjali is giving their aim for capturing a wider market with the help of digital marketing a kick start. This will be the first time when Patanjali would be advertising on a digital platform trying to yield much larger benefits in comparison to print and other channels of media. Patanjali already has a very strong presence in the Indian market and it has been strengthening its online presence through aggressive campaigning and promotional activities on Facebook and YouTube.

Patanjali started off with their campaign in February this year and got a positive response from the audience or the customers. The viewership of the company recorded a growth of around eleven times in the number of Google searches in the past and an increase of 30 lakh to 15 crores in their YouTube viewership. The company had held a lot of promotional campaigns and live interaction which had influenced a lot of people and received around 80 percent response on Facebook.

Patanjali, that started its Ayurveda channel on YouTube in July 2014 has reached 96,000 subscribers and the Indian fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) giant got around 15 crore views which shows how well they were able to influence the audience with the help of just 30 sec ads.

Now when the industry giant has decided to properly advertise their brand on platforms like Google and Facebook, they are expected to only get better with their social campaigns. Another thing which they have thought about is to appeal the southern states more. In order to that, Patanjali has collaborated with Google and Facebook and has planned to now advertise for the South Indian audiences in the local languages.

Yoga Guru Ramdev is a very big supporter of the “Go Swadeshi” movement and has been campaigning online for a boycott of foreign products. During the Independence Day, he was the one to lead several campaigns to persuade the boycott of the foreign goods and educated them the importance of resorting to the local products.

As for the social media, Digital media is the trend that everybody knows about and it is easier for the brands like Patanjali to spread awareness about whatever it is that they are promoting like Patanjali is not only selling Ayurveda goods, it is selling dreams, dreams to make India self-sufficient.
